HOW INDUSTRIES ARE TRANSFORMED BY SELF DRIVING CARS
It took more than 50 years for electricity to be adopted by 60% of households in the United States and only 10 years for mobile phones. The adoption of self-driving cars could be even faster than we think. Most research shows that there will be as many as 21 million driverless cars in the United States and 27 million in Europe by 2030. Most interesting, ridesharing leaders like Uber and Lyft are banking on it. But how can self-driving affect other industries?
Need for insurance could drop as a result of fewer car accidents as driveless cars evolve. In anticipation of this change, some insurers are rolling out usage-based insurance policies (UBIs), which charge consumers based on how many miles they drive and how safe their driving habits are.
Cars will be connected and software-dependent. Because of that, drivers could gain more insight into the repairs their cars need. That information could help them to avoid expensive repairs in advance.
In the future, hotel industry could look very unusual. Research shows that 15 years from now, many hotel and motel customers will move to moveable hotels such as self driving cars so they can travel and sleep at the same time.

Travellers will be able to watch adverts in video form without risking their safety. For advertisers, it will create lots of new opportunities to present riders with local-based commercials for close goods and service.
